A review of academic work by members of the PLA revealed certain units publishing an increasing amount of papers on cyber security. One of these units was examined in detail to identify its personnel, expertise, location, and leadership. The results of this examination showed:- Personnel identified as authors of computer and network security articles.

- Increased spending on unit facilities.
